Mark I Adams Revolver (Beaumont-Adams Conversion) 5 shot .450 Boxer caliber, 6 inch barrel. Originally .54 caliber percussion. Conversion date on left side of frame. These guns were arsenal refinish during time of conversion making some of the original stamps unreadable. Ejector housing added during conversion. Round plug in grips is original. Has "out-of-service" cancellation marks on right side of frame. "W.D." and "Broad Arrow". Serial number on frame behind trigger bow - also on cylinder. Also stamped with "ADAMS PATENT No." The number is not undistinguishable.
Left side frame stamped "1.73" Jan 1873. Date when it was converted to centerfire. Top strap of frame engraved with undistinguishable words.
Made by Adams Patent Small Arms Co.  391 Strand, London England.
Historical Significance:
First revolver issued to the North West Mounted Police in 1874. There were no arsenal marking indicating they were issued to the NWMP. Some serial numbers of guns issued to the NWMP were recorded - please contact for referral.

Historical Significance:
Third model revolver issued to the North West Mounted Police. NWMP revolvers stamped "C" over "MP" in an oval on the ride side of frame in front of the cylinder. Some serial numbers of guns issued to the NWMP were recorded - please contact for referral.
